Mudumalai National Park is a national park in the Nilgiri Mountains in Tamil Nadu. The sanctuary is composed of hills and valleys with several perennial streams and swamps. The area is home to several endangered and vulnerable species including Indian elephant, Bengal tiger, gaur and Indian leopard. There are at least 266 species of birds in the sanctuary, including critically endangered Indian white-rumpled vulture and long-billed vulture.

Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is located in the Chengalpattu District in the state of Tamil Nadu. Vedanthangal is home to migratory birds such as pintail, garganey, gray wagtail, blue-winged teal, common sandpiper and the like. It is said that such a vast number of birds are attracted to this location because of its various small lakes that prove to be a fertile feeding ground for the birds. More than 40,000 birds (including 26 rare species), from various parts of the world visit the sanctuary during the migratory season every year.

Point Calimere Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary is located adjacent to and east of Kodikkarai and Kottaikadu villages of Tamil Nadu. It consists of  dry evergreen trees and since it is located closer to the sea, it also consists of wet marshy lands and mangrove forests. This Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary is famous for the large Flamingos and the large flocks of Waterfowl.

Viralimalai Wildlife Sanctuary is a spring of idyllic greenery and a paradise of peaceful bliss. Tourists visiting the sanctuary are greeted by a memorable sight of India's national bird, the royal peacock, spreading  its beautifully colored spots and dancing to the rhythm of nature. Different types of peacocks come in different colors and different species.

Vallanadu Wildlife Sanctuary is created for the protection of blackbuck antelope. It is scrub forest area and is a beautiful sight to watch them come out of the shrubs and roam freely in their natural habitat. These beautiful creatures of the wild are preserved here.

Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR) located in the South Western Ghats montane rain forests. It is the home to various endemic plant species, and rich fauna including tigers, leopards, gaur, and Nilgiri tahr. The area around the sanctuary is the catchment area of number of rivers, breathtaking sights of mountains and waterfalls greets visitors at every turn in this sanctuary. The sanctuary offers a number of listed trekking routes all across the sanctuary lead by experienced guides.

Grizzled Squirrel Wildlife Sanctuary (GSWS) or Srivilliputhur Wildlife Sanctuary is blessed with diverse habitats, there are grasslands, wet evergreen forests, semi evergreen, moist deciduous, open deciduous and closed deciduous. Lots of trees adore this sanctuary, which are the abode to millions of squirrels living here.

Anamalai Tiger Reserve, earlier known as Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park is a protected area in the Anaimalai Hills of Coimbatore District and Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu. Anamalai is home to a wide variety of fauna and flora.The animal species include Indian Elephant, Indian Leopard, Nilgiri Tahr, Lion-tailed Macaque, Gaur, Nilgiri Langur, Sambar Deer etc attracts Tourists.

Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park is a protected area consisting of 21 small islands and adjacent coral reefs in the Gulf of Mannar in the Indian Ocean. It is home to an affluent diversity of aquatic plants and animals, the national park has identified the presence of around 3600 plant and animal species. The different estuaries, beaches and forests in the park further heighten its beauty and showcase nature in all its glory.

Mukurthi National Park is  protected area located in the western corner of the Nilgiris Plateau west of Ootacamund hill station in the northwest corner of Tamil Nadu.The park is characterized by montane grasslands and shrublands interspersed with sholas in a high altitude area of high rainfall, near-freezing temperatures and high winds. It is home to an array of endangered wildlife, including royal Bengal tiger and Asian elephant, but its main mammal attraction is the Nilgiri tahr. The park was previously known as Nilgiri Tahr National Park.

Guindy National Park is a protected area of Tamil Nadu, located in Chennai. The park is an extension of the grounds surrounding Raj Bhavan, formerly known as the Guindy Lodge. It extends deep inside the governor's estate, enclosing beautiful forests, scrub lands, lakes and streams. The park has a role in both ex-situ and in-situ conservation and is home to 400 blackbucks, 2,000 spotted deers, 24 jackals, a wide variety of snakes, geckos, tortoises and over 130 species of birds, 14 species of mammals, over 60 species of butterflies and spiders each, a wealth of different invertebrates—grasshoppers, ants, termites, crabs, snails, slugs, scorpions, mites, earthworms, millipedes, and the like.
